BAHAI TEMPLE

Santiago, the Chilean capital, is a city with a versatile character and diverse touristic options. It would be a mistake to think that the only thing you can do here is to visit monuments, museums, and shopping malls. Santiago has a lot to offer – from tours around the city to eco-travel to indigenous tourism. You will be surprised to know that this is the region with the largest concentration of the Mapuche population in all of Chile.

On this tour, you will get to know the Bahai Temple. Located in the foothills of the Andes and with an incredible view of the city of Santiago, the Bahai House of Worship opens its doors and welcomes all people who wish to know it and participate in the activities that take place there. This is a half-day activity, perfect to combine with other options in Santiago. See them here or ask us.

Travolution in Santiago is identity, it is national history that you can travel through and relive thanks to the locals and their stories.

SANTIAGO, THE CAPITAL

Santiago, the Chilean capital, is a city with a versatile character and diverse touristic options. It would be a mistake to think that the only thing you can do here is to visit monuments, museums and shopping malls. Santiago has a lot to offer - from tours around the city to eco-travel to indigenous tourism.

It was founded by a Spanish conquistador Pedro de Valdivia and, over all these years, Santiago has become a mix of oldest tradition, Spanish influence, and modern architectural wonders that can offer you plenty of things to do and see.

Located at the foot of the Andes on the banks of the Mapocho River, Santiago is surrounded by hills and mountains with incredible views towards natural landscapes where you can enjoy adventure tourism doing skiing and snowboarding, hiking, climbing, rafting and more.

Being the biggest city of Chile and the fifth-biggest in South America, Santiago consists of 37 communes and they are all different, so your perception of the city will depend on the commune you stay in or visit.

Not many people know that but right in the capital of Chile, there are places where indigenous people live. Community tourism and indigenous cultures is what we at Travolution want to make visible. It is always a pleasure to share with our travelers how they lived, cooked and shared their time in a Mapuche community in their Rukas (typical Mapuche construction). Visiting this place is a great way to learn about their history, culture and crafts.

If you are interested in having this special cultural experience, we will be happy to organize a personalized trip for you. If you would like to see other options in Santiago, check them out here or ask us about others that might interest you.

Come and enjoy a different experience of sustainable and community-based tourism!
