DAY 3 - FRAY JORGE NATIONAL PARK & ENCANTO VALLEY

In this private excursion, you will enjoy the great beauties of the region. The Limari Valley has amazing geography and nature of extreme transition that thousands of years ago surprised ancient nomads from the Atlantic and the Amazon who came here attracted by the minerals, the Pacific coast and its relict oceanic forests. Their main refuge was the Valle del Encanto, a hidden semi-arid ravine. It is considered to be the first and most advanced artistic, astronomical and ceremonial center of Chilean prehistory due to its attractive location, geomorphology, variety of slopes, flora and fauna, as well as large stones with engravings, paintings and mortars that teach the art, the amazing rituals and the cosmovision of the oldest shamanic culture in the Coquimbo Region: Los Molles.

Opposite the Valle del Encanto is the millenary cold forest of the Fray Jorge ice age, the northernmost one in Chile that survives the Camanchaca oceanic fog and resists the advance of the Atacama, the aridest desert in the world. This forest, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Starlight and National Park, has numerous species of birds, plants and trees from different latitudes, times and climates.
